It’s a new month and I’m certain you have some specific plans and goals to achieve before the month comes to an end. I wish you the very best. Not only should you know this and tell yourself, but let it dwell in you and influence the things you go about with.
We are too hard on ourselves and this deprives us from seeing how amazing we are. We need to be there for ourselves, by loving and supporting ourselves. Stop envying other people’s lives, everyone is unique in his or her way. Yes, there are certain things present in someone’s life you wish you possess too, but don’t let envy and jealousy get in the way. Work for it and if you don’t get it, it’s very likely it’s not meant to be, so don’t force it.
If you tell a person to mention things that seem as flaws, they will have no difficult time mentioning a lot of things they view as imperfections. Now, ask this same person to tell you what he/she love about himself/herself, they will barely mention a few things. You deserve to feel confident and happy about yourself. These are five things you should know and tell yourself every day.
- You are worth it.
Yes, you are worth it. Your life is worth something, your existence is a gift. Do you have any idea of the ‘battle’ you fought before YOU came out of your mother’s womb? Why should you allow someone else make you feel less about yourself? You deserve to be where you are because you worked hard to get there. Tell yourself you are worth it, you’re worthy of people’s love and friendship.
- Your thoughts and feelings matter.
Most times, you feel lost even while surrounded by a lot of people. Maybe not even a lot of people, you might be among a few people and feel lost. A discussion or an argument is going on and you feel your thoughts don’t matter anyway, that’s so wrong. Don’t let anyone tell you that your feelings are stupid or your thoughts don’t matter, because they really do. You need to be there for yourself and know how important you are before anyone else can.
- You shouldn’t worry about the things you cannot change.
This is difficult for most people, even myself. Worrying about things is probably the most common attribute of human beings. There are things in life we can’t change whether we concur or not, you have to learn to accept and leave things the way they are. We tend to age faster when we worry a lot, we know this, then why should you keep worrying, especially about the things you can’t change?
- You deserve to be loved.
You might have suffered a lot of mishaps in relationships, this doesn’t mean you are not special, you’ve just been in the wrong ones. Whether you believe it or not, there’s someone out there who’s going to love you more than you can imagine. Don’t be with someone who makes you feel terrible about yourself or makes it look like he is doing you a favor by being with you. You have so many amazing attributes that deserve to be adored, you deserve to be cherished. The fact that you’re not a certain way shouldn’t make you feel less loved. You deserve to be loved.
- You have the power to change things you don’t like about yourself.
Your current situation is not your final destination. You have the power to change things you are not happy with about yourself. You think you are fat and you don’t like it? Work out and get that body you desire. You don’t like your job? Then quit and do what makes you happy, not that easy, right? Well, you have every right to be happy and not miserable. You shouldn’t do what you don’t enjoy every day, it’s frustrating. If you don’t like your relationship with someone, let it go or work towards making it better. All these might sound tasking, but it will make a happier lifestyle, which we all desire.
Everything happens for a reason, so whatever you’re going through, it’s for a while and things will be okay soon. You deserve to be happy, if you’re not okay now, you will be.
